The Tarion Corporation is mandated by the Government of Ontario to administer the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act. It Handles complaints from buyers of new homes. The program covers deposits made to builders, warranty coverage's on new homes and builder's warranties. If problems arising during the warranty period and the builder does not correct problems during the warranty period, the program will help to resolve the dispute. Each year, the Ontario New Home Warranty Program rates its builders based on the number of homes registered by the builder that year, and whether or not the program has received any unresolved home owner complaints for that builder.
